The Big Apple Circus, an internationally recognized, not-for-profit touring circus, seeks a rigger for the Tent Department starting immediately.
Responsibilities: participating in the rigging, raising, and striking of the tent during load-outs and load-ins; and other projects as assigned. The applicant must be comfortable with heights.
The job requires full-time travel with the show. Position includes: salary, housing, meals, tour transportation and vacation. Equipment is provided.

Responsibilities include: grounds upkeep, restroom attendance and janitorial duties, basic plumbing, painting, misc repairs and heavy lifting.

2010/07/01 - Administrative Assistant
The Big Apple Circus, an internationally recognized, not-for-profit touring circus seeks an Administrative Assistant for the Operations Department to start on 8/08/10.
Responsibilities include: general office duties, schedule coordination, information distribution and tracking, phones, data entry, and additional special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a friendly disposition, basic computer skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks in a timely manner. A valid driver’s license is required.
This position is required to live on-site and tour year-round with the show. It includes room, meals, transportation between locations and benefits.

Big Apple Circus seeks a temporary Ring Crew Member to assist in the preparation of the newest production, in Walden, NY, including prop and scenery movement and installation, over the rehearsal period and for dress rehearsals. Work week is 6 days per week. 3 meals per day provided by Circus Cookhouse. Housing provided.

Big Apple Circus is looking for a seasonal Production Assistant to assist during rehearsals for the newest production. Candidates should have experience in stage management and rehearsal coordination. Must have the ability to work long hours, and interact well with a multi-cultural cast and crew. Mid August 2010 - July, 2011
The Big Apple Circus seeks a Wardrobe Assistant for the touring production. Responsibilities include: Load in and out of the wardrobe and dressing rooms; setting up and care of dressing rooms; assist cast and crew with wardrobe related needs; care and cleaning of wardrobe. Other tasks as assigned by Wardrobe Supervisor.
Skills required include: Sewing skills, organizational skills, costume construction, excellent communication skills.

Assist with the grooming and preparation of animals for show which includes ponies, horses, dogs, goats and small exotics: Cleaning of all animal facilities: Load in and load out of stalls and animal facilities: On occasion will be a part of the production to assist Equine Trainers in the ring during the performance: Assist with daily training in circus big top: Willing to travel full time: Room and board are provided: Able to take direction and to work long hours
